The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will begin accepting quality measure suggestions to be considered for use in Physician Quality Reporting System for future rule making years. All suggestions must be received by CMS no later than 5:00 p.m. EST August 1, 2012.

A proposed rule from HHS pushes back by one year the compliance deadline for conversion to the International Classification of Diseases 10th Revision of diagnostic and procedural codes to Oct. 1, 2014. The

On November 1, 2011, CMS issued a final rule with comment period. This rule includes updates to the 2012 Physician Quality Reporting System as well as provisions for the 2012, 2013, and 2014 Electronic Prescribing (eRx) Incentive Program.
